The Grand Federal Rondel Mirror

33 x 0
The dramatic scale of this grande ronel is extraordinary. Deeply undercut, the turned molding is 6" in width, 5" in depth, and 33" in diameter. Thirteen fully round balls symbolize the thirteen Colonial states. Finished in antique gold leaf with a black rim. In 1803 Thomas Sheraton recorded in his "Cabinet Directory," "convex mirrors have become unusually popular for their agreeable effect by reflecting the perspective of rooms and for their convenience as a light source." For these same reasons convex mirrors continue to be popular today.
