The Grand Rondel Mirror

33"diam.
The dramatic scale of this grande rondel is extraordinary. Deeply undercut, the turned molding is 6" in width, 5" in depth, and 33" in diameter. Finished in antique gold leaf with a black rim. In 1803 Thomas Sheraton recorded in his "Cabinet Directory," "convex mirrors have become unusually popular for their agreeable effect by reflecting the perspective of rooms and for their convenience as a light source." For these same reasons convex mirrors continue to be popular today. Pictured as an alternate is our #5280 a smaller version of our #5285 Grand Federal Rondel with Thirteen balls to symbolize the thirteen Colonial states. Without the balls it becomes our #5286 Grand Rondel and has the same look as the #5280 pictured here.
